World FM Day 2021

World FM day is on 12 May 2021 and is an initiative run through Global FM . The purpose of World FM Day is to recognize and celebrate the vital work that workplace and facilities managers do and how the wider industry contributes to the business worldwide. EuroFM wishes to celebrate World FM Day with students, educators and those interested in careers in FM who will form an important part of how FM will be “standing tall beyond the pandemic” which is this year’s World FM Day theme.

As the future of how FM is shaped, we encourage students to engage with speakers invited to discuss career development in FM and FM trends that are arising in South Africa. EuroFM Stay Connected Session 4 – Connecting Research, Education and Business (2020)

We are proud to present our next Stay Connected Session to our EuroFM community! We will share the latest FM knowledge, results and ideas with you, to learn and get inspired. This 4th Stay Connected Session will specifically focus on the powerful collaboration between research, business and education. One of the principles of EuroFM!

Date: 1 October 2020
Time: 10.00 – 12.15 hrs CEST
Where: Online
Costs: Free of charge for EuroFM Members. Not a member of EuroFM but you are interested in joining this online session? Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

The inspiration for the 4th Stay Connected Session was kicked off by the recognition of Prof Mark Mobach and his team when they were awarded in November 2019 the ‘Delta Prize’, a leading practice-orientated research prize handed by Ingrid van Engelshoven, Minister of Education, Culture and Science in the Dutch parliament. She honoured Prof Mark Mobach and his research team for the impact their research in Facility Management has had on the crossroads of practice and their passion towards the FM field.

During the Stay Connected Session sixteen researchers coming from two research groups at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and The Hague University of Applied Sciences, led by Prof Mark Mobach, present themselves and their results, knowledge and experiences in 5-minute pitches. The pitches are based on short papers, that will be published in the companion proceedings of EFMIC 2020. The variety of pitches will give our EuroFM community a broad insight in the latest FM developments.

Themes that will be discussed by the researchers are:
– Insight to Campus Design
– Healthcare Facilities – A Patient View
– Aspects on Healthy Working and Living
– Facility Design in the Context of Society

The 4th Stay Connected Session will be one of the previews to our 2021 European Facility Management International Conference. We hope to meet you there again!

Navigating turbulent times (Webinar)

Join IWFM and a variety of expert guests for their new fortnightly webinar series, ‘Navigating turbulent times’, where they delve into today’s greatest challenges, tackle your questions and concerns, and help our profession navigate through these stormy waters.

‘Navigating turbulent times’ episode four: ‘Net zero and sustainability in a post-COVID world’

Join IWFM and their International SIG live at 12pm, Wednesday 13 May, for the next episode of ‘Navigating turbulent times’ as their expert panel discusses ‘Net zero and sustainability in a post-COVID world’ and answers your sustainability-related questions.

Commentators tell us that COVID-19 will herald a ‘new normal’. What does the sustainability agenda look like in the post-pandemic era? What does this mean for our profession, and the industry that supports it?

Almost all facilities and office managers in the UK already take responsibility for sustainability (according to the Sustainability Survey 2018, two thirds of our members see it as extremely important to their role). Will the role of workplace and facilities be enhanced or diminished by this experience?
