EuroFM Research Symposium is a key part of the annual EuroFM Conference, bringing together researchers to present findings, exchange ideas, and connect with industry professionals.
The annual call for research papers is open to all FM researchers, including senior academics, practitioners, educators, and postgraduate students. Papers must align with EuroFM’s mission and clearly articulate their implications for FM.
The research papers go through a following rigorous peer-review process:
- Submitted abstracts are reviewed by a Scientific Committee members,
- Accepted abstracts are invited to be developed into short or long research papers, viewpoint papers or technical papers,
- Submitted papers are blindly reviewed by two independent reviewers who indicate if paper is rejected or accepted (as is, with minor, or with major revisions)
- If needed, papers are revised and submitted for further review either by reviewers or by the Scientific Committee chairs.
- Final papers are published in the digital Open-Access Proceedings with the ISBN number.
As a condition of publication, authors commit to presenting their research at the EuroFM Conference.

In addition to the annual symposiums, the EuroFM Research Network aims to support the continuous sharing and development of advanced FM knowledge through EuroFM researcher meetups. From a researcher’s perspective, the goal of the meetups is to enable the researcher to develop her/his research through cooperating and collaborating with other FM researchers. The working groups of the meetups are established based on interest and discussion among the EuroFM Researchers.
Three ‘Getting started’ sessions were arranged in Oct-Dec 2022 and the discussion in these sessions is used to initiate five(5) working groups that will meet in the EuroFM Researcher Meetups. Based on the Getting started sessions, the working groups are:
- Digitalisation and technology to enhance FM
- UrbanFM – better places and communities;
- Places and spaces for learning and teaching;
- Workplace development: New ways of working 2.0;
- Circular, future-ready FM.
Researcher Meetups were organized during 2023-2024 and currently are not offered anymore.
Online Research Webinars sessions provide a platform to share the latest research, discuss key trends, and foster collaboration across the global FM community. Each webinar will feature expert speakers and offer opportunities for (interactive) discussions on critical FM topics.
