Recap EFMC 2016 Milan - FM enhancing people and business!

13 Jun 2016

EFMC 2016 in Milan was one to remember. First and foremost we thank all of you for participating as delegates, moderators, speakers and all sponsors. There were once again many FM professionals from all over Europe and other parts of the world. The importance of the EFMC conference is beyond promoting your organization and networking amongst each other. The aim of the conference is the positive impact on the FM industry in Europe with regards to knowledge sharing, learning from one another, and exploiting new ways of how FM can constructively contribute towards the core business.

We have learnt that FM is here to stay and is the trends ahead in the world of business will definitely affect the way FM portrays itself as a profession for today and tomorrow. Many presentations, panels’ discussions and roundtable moments touch various subjects on FM service excellence, managing and supporting the organization and people, and change management as to the people focus and specialization on sectors, disruption and change management, value co-creation, connectivity and digitalization, and transition to sustainable buildings and cities as to the business focus.

At the end of the first EFMC conference day EuroFM once again hosted the networking dinner event at the astonishing Gattopardo Cafè Milano, a former church which is now a famous location for exclusive events. At this event the EuroFM awards were handed out to its rightful winners.

The conference illustrates two keywords of the FM future: focusing on business models, strategies and specialization on the one hand, and caring about people working for and with FM organizations on the other. In the three parallel conference tracks on the 8thand the 9thof June many knowledge was shared and exchanged to elevate the FM industry continuously.

We look back on the important messages brought by the various speakers on innovation, integration and vision:

  • We need to continue to advocate for more recognition and visibility of FM
  • Added value, service excellence, sustainability, and workplace design are key FM related topics to include in our everyday business
  • We must strive to align strategy, values, and services to succeed at all times
  • FM is relationship management and complementary to business administration

We therefore look forward continuing this momentum of inspiration to next year EFMC 2017 in Madrid!

Te veo el próximo año!
