Review EFMC 2012 Copenhagen 23 to 25 May 2012, Copenhagen, Denmark
The theme of the conference was FM- Global responsibility, local acting. The attendees experienced excellent Facility Management in Copenhagen. A good performance by the hosting organizations and the Bella convention center. The conference offered plenty of business conferences and scientific seminars with excellent presentations on practice, research and education.
Right from the start, at the welcome reception in the beautiful historical town hall of Copenhagen everything was already pointing out that this would be a great EFMC. And so it turned out to be. More and more the organization succeeds in bringing a lot of FM adapts and colleagues together as one of the EuroFM goals is to establish a widely supported FM networking function. The other goal EuroFM is working on is to establish a formal body representing European FM interest in Brussels on an European Union level. In that respect the Mission and Vision 2020 document of EuroFM will be finalized in the next meetings in Trondheim (Norway) after having consulted the members for the past year.
One of the highlights of the EFMC was the contest of three young FM students that were presenting their graduation thesis by a Poster and an elevator pitch of five minutes to the complete audience. Three incredibly talented young female FM professionals who were showing us the way to a “Global Responsibility, Local Acting” approach of FM. With a special thank to Interserve being the sponsor of this magnificent event.
The future of EuroFM also involves more collaboration with our colleagues of Eastern Europe. Therefore EuroFM is also very happy with the fact that the next EFMC will be organized in Prague. Prague with his historical Karls bridge the bridge between West and East. On 22nd, 23rd, 24th of May 2013 we hope to see you all again in Prague for our next EFMC but in between we will meet as members in Trondheim Norway in September 2012 and Zürich Switzerland in February 2013.
