During the 8th IFM Congress at the Tecnical University in Vienna, EuroFM was able to hand over the pan-european site manager certificates to four of five successful candidates. The pan-european organisation EuroFM was represented by Chair Ron van der Weerd, Vice-Chair Goran Milanov, treasurer and program head Prof. Alex Redlein from the TU Wien and Karin Schaad, Chair of the Practice Network Group.
Since the initial roll-out in Austria in September 2014, some 50 Facility Managers have passed the exam and are now certified Site Managers.
While certificates have now already been awarded to Facility Managers in Bulgaria, just recently IFMA Italy started examining and the two first certificates were handed over by Goran Milanov at the Members Meeting in Milan at the end of October. Several more countries will be joining the certification program soon. Contracts have already been signed with Spain and Portugal and now France, Greece, Latvia, Poland, Sweden and Turkey have expressed their wish to start certifying site managers, too. For the examination, which will be held locally, the master questions to be used will be adapted to the language and legislation of the various countries in collaboration with the local FM associations.
